Transforming Lives,Building Better Futures
Impact
At Shema Foundation, impact means creating meaningful and lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities.
Through child protection and care, nutrition, education, early childhood development and family strengthening, we combine direct support with sustainable solutions that help people thrive.
Ebenezer provides a safe, nurturing and protective environment for orphans, abandoned and neglected children, and children facing difficult or unsafe circumstances.
Our support goes beyond residential care. Children receive nutrition, healthcare, education, early learning, psychosocial support, recreation and individualised care according to their needs.
The Centre is licensed to care for 50 children aged 0–17 years.
Where safe and appropriate, we work with government social welfare authorities towards family tracing, assessment, reintegration and appropriate long-term care solutions.
Since 2024, Lishe Shuleni has worked to improve nutrition knowledge and practices among children, teachers, parents and school communities in Morogoro.

Through nutrition education, school food demonstrations, school feeding, nutrition gardens, teacher training and community engagement, we are helping create healthier school environments and better conditions for children to learn and thrive.
Mwanzo Bora strengthens Early Childhood Development by supporting children’s health, nutrition, protection, nurturing care, early learning and overall development.
Our holistic approach supports children across three developmental stages—0–3, 3–5 and 5–8 years—while strengthening parents, caregivers and educators.
As a member of the Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN), Shema Foundation contributes to collaboration and learning that advance quality ECD in Tanzania.
As Mwanzo Bora expands, we will measure and report its reach and outcomes as implementation progresses.

How We Measure Impact
From Activities to Meaningful Change
We monitor our programmes to understand who we reach, what we deliver and what changes as a result.
Our monitoring focuses on areas such as:
Child wellbeing and development • Nutrition knowledge and practices • Participation and programme reach • Early learning and school readiness • Caregiver and teacher capacity • Family and community engagement • Safeguarding and protection
We use programme records, attendance data, assessments, monitoring tools and feedback from participants and stakeholders to strengthen programme quality and accountability.
